Timeline of Leave.EU

We have seen a number of important revelations come to light recently about Nigel Farage, Arron Banks, Andy Wigmore, and their various businesses and organisations including Leave.EU, Eldon Insurance, Big Data Dolphins, and others. With so many different stories coming to light, it can be difficult to keep track. We decided to compile a comprehensive timeline of the events we think are significant.

23 January 2015: Banks tells the FT he is apparently worth £100 million.

4 September 2015: Leave.EU Group Limited is incorporated according to Companies House with Liz Bilney and Alison Marshall instated as Directors and Arron Banks as guarantor.

10 October 2015: Banks is invited to meet Russian ambassador.

6 November 2015: Banks’ has a six hour boozy lunch with the Russian ambassador Alexander Yakovenko.

16 November 2015: Arron Banks and Andy Wigmore are invited to the Russian embassy for a meeting. It is unclear if they went on this day.

17/18 November 2015: Leave.EU hosts its launch event with Brittany Kaiser from CA.

Additionally on one of these days, they meet with the Russian ambassador again.

20 November 2015: Cambridge Analytica pitches to Leave.EU’s social media team at their Bristol office.

8 January 2016: Liz Bilney met with Cambridge Analytica in London where they provide a breakdown of costs and services provided if Leave.EU chose to use them. Bilney subsequently informed Julian Wheatland they would not be using CA’s services.

25 January 2016: French news report shows Go Skippy call centre employees calling for Leave.EU purposes. Liz Bilney shown on tape confirming.

29 January 2016: Arron Banks named as Director of Leave.EU

February 2016: Banks visited Russia in a previously undisclosed trip. He claims it was for a family trip.

23 June 2016: EU Referendum

17 July 2016: Arron Banks announces he is buying gold and big mining stocks, 12 days after Russian state-owned bank announces plan to buy gold mines.

18-21 July 2016: Republican National Convention takes place in Ohio. Farage, Banks, and Wigmore attend and meet John Bartley Boykin, an aide to Mississippi Governor Phil Bryant, beginning their relationship with the Mississippi officials.

22 July 2016: George Cottrell is arrested at O’Hare Airport in Chicago. Nigel Farage, Isabel Oakeshott, and Andy Wigmore are present.

14 August 2016: NYT publishes an article about the “black ledger” of payments made to Paul Manafort, including by off shore companies based in Belize. Andy Wigmore held a position as trade envoy for Belize to the United Kingdom.

24 August 2016: Farage, Banks, and Wigmore go to Mississippi for the first time on invitation from Governor Bryant to meet Trump. Farage speaks at a Trump campaign rally that night.

8 November 2016: Trump is elected.

12 November 2016: Farage, Banks, and Wigmore meet President-elect Trump at Trump Tower just 4 days after the US election.

15 November 2016: Banks, Wigmore, and Farage meet with Ambassador Yakovenko again.

23 November 2016: Farage, Banks, and Wigmore meet with officials from the US Embassy.

16 December 2016: Big Data Dolphins is incorporated.

12 January 2017: Wigmore meets with Mississippi Governor and others in Washington DC, plans to meet with reps from US Embassy, invites State Department officials to their inauguration party.

20 January 2017: Trump is inaugurated. Farage, Banks, and Wigmore attend and sit with Mississippi delegation. Host party at Hay Adams Hotel afterwards.

25 January 2017: Five days into his Presidency, Trump signs an Executive Order entitled “Enhancing Public Safety” which states that U.S. privacy protections will not be extended beyond US citizens or residents.

3 March 2017: Banks confirms Leave.EU worked with Cambridge Analytica during the referendum.

11 June 2017: Wigmore gives an interview to James Patrick of Byline confirming that Big Data Dolphins is now live and working out of Bristol and Mississippi.

25 June 2017: The Financial Times reports that Arron Banks is now worth £250 million.

25 June 2017: Arron Banks holds a one year referendum anniversary party. George Cottrell attends.

4 October 2017: Wigmore tells Emma Briant the project in Mississippi has been happening for 9-12 months.

2 November 2017: Governor Bryant, Arron Banks, Andy Wigmore, and Lord Ashcroft attend Ole Miss football game.

17 April 2018: Brittany Kaiser testifies in front of the DCMS Committee and brings forward claims about the Mississippi project.

25 April 2018: The Fair Vote Project receives a temporary injunction from a judge in Mississippi on Eldon Insurance & Big Data Dolphins’ space at Ole Miss.

29 April 2018: Andy Wigmore resigns as a Director of Eldon Insurance.

5-6 June 2018: Trial for The Fair Vote Project’s Permanent Injunction against Eldon Insurance & Big Data Dolphins in Mississippi.

8 June 2018: Banks releases a statement on Leave.EU’s website that he and Wigmore will not appear in front of the DCMS Committee because of The Fair Vote Project’s lawsuit in Mississippi.

9 June 2018: News breaks that Banks met with Russians, including Ambassador Yakovenko and various Russian businessmen, many more times than he has previously revealed. The information came to light due to emails given to The Times and The Guardian. Banks changes his mind and says he will testify to DCMS.
